Madeleine in Sweden

Princess Madeleine is now in Sweden to see her new niece. She arrived today in Stockholm, together with her dog Zorro. Chris stayed in New York.

Crown Princess Mathilde made a visit to the 'Pedagogisch Centrum Wagenschot', an educational center that offers help for youths with serious and long term problems, with emotional and behavioural problems and with a mental disability, in Eke, today.

Mary in Washington - Day 1

Crown Princess Mary arrived today at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) for the signing of an agreement between Denmark and the IDB, for a donation of $2.4 million to the IDB's Gender and Diversity fund, in Washington.

The Swedish Royal Court published today the first pictures of little Princess Estelle, taken at Haga Palace when she was four days old. The proud dad Prince Daniel himself took this picture.

Press conference on the health condition of Prince Friso

Yesterday there was a little press conference at the hospital in Innsbruck, where Prince Friso is currently staying.

Some excerpts of what was said:

[...]Prince Friso was brought to the hospital under reanimation conditions. Due to the length of time he was covered under the snow, his brain had been deprived of oxygen. The result was cardiac arrest, which lasted approximately 50 minutes. The patient had to be reanimated during this entire period.[...]
Yesterday, a first MRI-scan was possible, without bringing the patient into danger. Since this examination and the latest neurological tests yesterday evening it is clear that the oxygen deprivation has caused extensive damage to the patient's brain. At present it is not certain whether he will ever regain consciousness. In any event, rehabilitation will take months, if not years. Prince Friso's family will now look for an appropriate rehabilitation facility.

King Carl Gustav announced the name of the daughter of Crown Princess Victoria today in front of the press.

Beatrice at restaurant

Princess Beatrice has been seen leaving a restaurant in London, after having dinner with some friends.

Carl-Phillip and Sofia at Haga Palace

Prince Carl-Phillip and Sofia Hellqvist arrived today at Haga Palace in the evening to visit the happy family. They arrived shortly before the King and the Queen.



According to the director of the information department Princess Madeleine would like to see the baby as soon as possible, but it could take a few days until she arrives.

It's a little princess!

Crown Princess Victoria gave birth to a little girl this morning!
The Royal Court announced on facebook that Victoria and Daniel arrived at Karolinska Hospitalet at 00:50 a.m..
The baby was born about four hours later.

The Office of the Marshal of the Realm is delighted to announce that H.R.H Crown Princess Victoria gave birth to a daughter on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at 04.26 am.
Both mother and child are in good health.

At 7 a.m. the new father, Prince Daniel appeared in front of the press.
The little girl weighes 3.2kilograms and is 51centimetres long.

The name will be made public tomorrow at 11.15 a.m.

Victoria, Daniel and the newborn have already left the hospital. At 13:04 they arrived at Haga Palace. The King and Queen are on their way to visit the baby.

Prince Carl Philip and his girlfriend Sofia Hellqvist have congratulated Victoria and Daniel: "We are very happy for them and give Daniel and Victoria our big congratulations and wish the little daughter welcomed to the world. I´m looking forward to meet her and to get to know her".
