On October 7th Queen Beatrix, Crown Prince Willem-Alexander and Crown Princess Máxima attended the Erasmus award ceremony of the Praemium Erasmianum foundation at the concertgebouw in Amsterdam.
The winner, Jose Antonio Abreu, is the founder and director of El Sistema, a network of youth orchestras in Venezuela.
The award includes a cash prize of 150,000 euros.
