And that’s it again – 2012 is almost over. Let’s have a look at what happened this year.
On January 8th the Danish little twins celebrated their first birthday. The Royal Court published new pictures on this occasion.
Queen Margrethe celebrated on January 15th her 40th jubilee as reign. Many celebrations took place in January and February on this occasion.
Princess Marie gave birth to a cute little princess on January 24th. They left the hospital a couple of days later.
During the Dutch Royal Family’s annual holiday in Lech, Prince Friso was buried in an avalanche and had to be reanimated. He is still in a coma.
On February 23th the first Swedish Royal Baby in decades was born. After attending an audience two days before, Crown Princess Victoria arrived around midnight at the hospital and already left it at noon. The full name Estelle Silvia Ewa Mary was announced by the King one day later.
The new Danish princess was christened on May 20th. Her full name is Athena Marguerite Françoise Marie.
Only two day later, May 22nd the christening of Princess Estelle took place. The four Royal godparents were Crown Prince Willem-Alexander, Crown Prince Haakon, Crown Princess Mary, Prince Carl-Philip. This was also the first event where Chris O’Neill and Sofia Hellqvist have been officially invited.
London was the place to be this summer due to the Olympics. Many royal families went to see the games with their children.
After announcing their engagement in April, Prince Guillaume and Countess Stéphanie de Lannoy got married on October 20th.
On October 25th the engagement between Princess Madeleine and Chris O’Neill was announced. The wedding will take place on June 8th in Stockholm.
Another year, another pregnancy: Because of Duchess Catherine’s visit to the hospital due to morning sickness, her pregnancy was announced on December 3rd. The due date is not known yet.
