70. birthday of Queen Margrethe

Although her birthday is later this month, (16/4/2010) the events in connection to it have already started. To give a review about what is going to happen I'll post the programme.


Thursday April 8
11.00 a.m.
HM the Queen, H.R.H. the Prince Consort, T.R.H. the Crown Prince and the
Crown Princess participate in the opening of the exhibition “Margrethe 2.” at Amalienborg Museum.
The exhibition tells the story of HM the Queen’s life through 70 years through paintings and items.

Friday April 9
3.00 p.m.
HM the Queen, HRH. the Prince Consort, TRH. the Crown Prince and the
Crown Princess are present at the opening of the exhibition “Queen of Denmark” at Frederiksborg Museum.
The exhibition portrays the official and private life of HM the Queen and connects her life story to events in Danish history.

Tuesday April 13
7.30 p.m.
Banquet at Christiansborg Palace will be attended by representatives of official Denmark on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of HM the Queen. Entertainment by the TV-station TV2.
HM the Queen and HRH the Prince Consort, HRH the Crown Prince and HRH the Crown Princess, HRH Prince Joachim and HRH Princess Marie and HRH Princess Benedikte and HH Prince Richard are present.

Thursday April 15
8.00 p.m.
Gala performance in the Royal Theatre.
HM the Queen and HRH the Prince Consort, HRH the Crown Prince and HRH the Crown Princess, HRH Prince Joachim and HRH Princess Marie, HRH Princess Benedikte and HH Prince Richard are present.

Friday April 16
HM the Queen’s 70th birthday

12.00 noon
HM the Queen and the Royal Family enter the balcony at Amalienborg.

12.40 p.m.
HM the Queen and the Prince Consort are driven to Copenhagen City Hall by a horse driven carriage.

Kgs. Nytorv
Strøget/the pedestrian street
The City Hall Square

1.00 p.m.
Reception and lunch at Copenhagen City Hall.

8.00 p.m.
Dinner and dance at Fredensborg Palace.
