Victoriadagen 2010 - Celebrations of Victoria's 33rd birthday
Crown Princess Victoria turns 33 today. As every year the Swedish Royal Family celebrates this day at their summer residence Solliden. The only one missing was the birthday girl herself.
She's been what, almost a month away on her honeymoon and she couldn't appear at her celebration? IMO this says a lot about her, I wasn't expecting this from her. (It's not as if she is working every day the rest of the year)
I think that in this case Victoria didn't act properly. Her absence seems to me almost disrespectful: I could understand, she wants to relax with her husband like every newly-wed couple, but this is not just a homey birthday party. It's a public celebration and a fund-raising event. And besides, it would have been awesome: Victoria, Daniel (and the SRF) and the Swedish people. What a pity! But in any case, we are going to celebrate Victoriadagen with Victoria and Daniel next year! :)
