Belgian Royal Family at concert

The Belgian Royal Family attended yesterday a concert the night before the National Day and abdication of King Albert.



On June 21st the abdication of King Albert and the investiture of King Philippe took place.
Mathilde is leaving this blog now, as I'm going to cover the most important events on Queens' lives.

King Albert is going to abdicate!

Belgian King Albert II. is going to abdicate on July 21st! He will address the nation at 6 p.m. today and announce it himself. July 21st is National Day in Belgium by the way. From this day on Crown Prince Philippe and Crown Princess Mathilde will be new King and Queen of Belgium.

Inauguration of King Willem-Alexander

Four hours after the abdication of Queen Beatrix, the inauguration of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima took place at the Nieuwe Kerk in Amsterdam.

Queen Beatrix hosted tonight a dinner ahead of her abdication at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.
