Review: The year 2014 in pictures

Not as busy as last year but still filled with engagements and babies - and a new King! Let's have a look!

On February 20th, late in the evening, Princess Madeleine's first child was born in New York - a girl named Leonore Lilian Maria.

On May 30th the long awaited first pregnancy of Princess Charlene was announced.

Little Leonore was christened in Stockholm on June 8th, the day of the first wedding anniversary of her parents.

June brought us another King. After King Juan Carlos announced his abdication on June 2nd, Crown Prince Felipe and Crown Princess Letizia became King and Queen on June 19th.

On June 27th the Swedish Royal Court announced the engagement of Prince Carl-Philip and Sofia Hellqvist. Their wedding will take place on June 15th 2015.

Prince George celebrated his first birthday on July 22nd with having new pictures released.

On September 8th the second pregnancy of Duchess Catherine was announced. She is again suffering HG as with her first pregnancy. The baby is due in April.

December 10th was always reserved for the Nobels. Not all eyes were in Sweden, though as Princess Charlene gave birth to her twins: Princess Gabriella and Prince Jacques.

And last but definitely not least - Princess Madeleine and Chris O'Neill are expecting their second child, due in summer 2015. The announcement was made on December 19th a bit earlier as usual after several rumours that came up after the Nobel festivities.

What are your hopes/guesses for 2015? I would love to see Victoria pregnant again and a baby for Sofia and Carl-Philip is sure I think. Apart from that, we're going to have a rather quiet year.

I wish you all the best for the new year!

The dresses 2014 - Part two

I simply adore the last dress! The rest is more or less okay.

Hhm, well, I kind of like her last dress. The white one is cute, too.

I like both dresses - no favourite here.

What do you think?

The dresses 2014 - Part one

Admit it - you're all looking forward to this post! And so am I :) Let's start with our Queens and Crown Princesses this year.

More tiara appearances as a Queen, but still very simple. Dress 3 is a repeat, dress 5 my favourite.

Personally I'm not that fond of the yellow dress but the rest is between okay and great! The first dress is an altered version of a dress she wore when pregnant with Isabella, dress 4 is a repeat and still one of my favourites. I also adore the flattering no 7, that she wore before in her early days as Crown Princess.

Let's cut out the first and the last and I'm more than happy! I love no 4 and 5 (Madeleine wore no 4 in a different colour to the Nobels) and actually no 10 as well. Nevertheless, nothing tops her gorgeous queenlike dress no 8 at the Nobel Awards this year!!

If it wasn't for the last dress I would have said it was a horrible year. It's still not her best choice. I really have the feeling she needs big weddings and stuff to show off her gorgeous dresses. And she definitely can! I still have hope for 2015.

What do you think? What is your hit and your miss?

Madeleine's outfits during pregnancy

Since the baby came earlier than I expected, the review over Madeleine's pregnancy fashion comes a little later.

The year with the Royal Family

As every year there is a summary about the events during 2013 of the Swedish Royal Family with interviews and some pictures we haven't seen before.

You can see the documentary here.

Review: The year 2013 in pictures

Just when you think it's going to be a quiet year and nothing really spectacular will happen - it does! My, oh my, we have two new kings, one baby, one on the way.
Are you ready? Let's go through it step by step.

In January little Athena celebrated her first birthday with having new official pictures released.

The new year was just 28 days old when Queen Beatrix addressed to her people and announced her abdication, taking place at Queen's Day on April 30th.
The abdication and inauguration was celebrated with many foreign Royals and on several occasions.

On June 8th, Princess Madeleine got married to Chris O'Neill in Stockholm.

King Albert announced on July 3rd that he will also abdicate in favour of his son, Prince Philippe. His inauguration took place on July 21st, the Belgian National Day.

The most exhausting job this year? Being a British journalist. On July 1st, they took their places in front of the hospital where Kate would give birth and waited... and waited.
Until finally, on July 22nd little Prince George of Cambridge was born.

After happy events, there are also sad ones. On August 12th the Dutch Royal House announces the death of Prince Friso, who had been in a coma after a skiing accident in 2012. He died one day after his wife Mabel's birthday.

Three months after their wedding, Princess Madeleine and Chris O'Neill announced that they are expecting their first child. It was made public, not planned though, that the baby is a girl and due on February 25th.

In September King Carl Gustaf celebrated his 40th throne jubilee.

Prince George's christening took place on October 23rd and since it was a private ceremony we can only enjoy the cute official picture ;)

And that was is. Quiet a busy year.
My guesses for 2014? Two pregnancy announcements but no baby except for Madeleine's next year.
What do you think?

I wish you all a very happy new year 2014 with health, luck, love and whatever your wishes are :)

The dresses 2013 - Part three

And here's the last part of all these beautiful dresses worn in 2013.

That's all for this year. At least it looks great ;)

Kate came back from her maternity leave with a gorgeous glitter dress. My favourite is dress no 3, though.

It is so sad that Letizia or the Spanish Royal Family in general has so little tiara appearances these times. That's why I chose the second outfit as favourite, although I love her hat + dress at the inauguration of Willem-Alexander.

Oh my, wearing night dresses in public should be forbidden... Thnak god she wore this absolutely gorgeous last dress!
